iPhone Eli Pictures

Here are some Eli iPhone pictures.  I always have my phone with me throughout the day for two reasons: (1) Eli is so cute and I can't stop taking his picture or taking a video. (2) I need to know what time it is when I'm feeding him.  If the photos were edited I used the PicTapGo! app I mentioned in my previous post.

Here is the first picture I took of Eli.  He was born at 9:01pm on Monday, this picture was taken around 6:30am on Tuesday morning.  I really didn't sleep much that night.  Well, we didn't even get to our room until around 1:00am.  I wanted to send a picture of Eli to my friends to let them know that Eli had been born, but Sam's phone had all of the delivery room pictures, so I snapped this shot while laying in bed.

It's amazing how much their face changes as the swelling goes down.

Night 2...trying out our Happiest Baby on the Block tricks.  That book was super helpful - it's the one book I would recommend to pregnant women (and future dads) along with The Nursing Mother's Companion.

Waiting to be discharged....

I think he really looks like Sam in this picture.  Eli doesn't look like my baby picture or Sam's baby picture, but he is taking after Sam.

I had to include one of our sweet Hans too : )

He loves bath time, and I love giving him baths!

Milk Coma : )

Hans is adjusting well to his little brother.   I think he just likes the way he smells (milk, spit-up, dirty diapers...all favorite smells to Hans...haha!)

A never ending growth spurt!

Wow is my boy growing!  He's taking after his dad already in that it appears he will be in the upper part or off the charts in percentile growth.  I don't think he is off the chart yet...just a healthy chunky baby (super thankful for that healthy part!).  His cousin, Emma, who turned 1 today is pretty petite.  We did a weigh in with me holding Eli and Emma on Thanksgiving Day.  Eli weighed 13.2 lbs and Emma weighed 17.8 lbs!  Whoa!  I know his growth will slow down once he reaches 3 to 4 months, but he's going to be a big boy!  I feel this constant need to take pictures of him because this never ending growth spurt.

I have a ton of pictures on my iPhone.  For those of you interested in what photo editing app I use on my iPhone, I love PicTapGo!.  I usually end up editing photos I have taken throughout the day during a nursing session.

Here are some pictures I took with my camera last week when he was 5 weeks old.

He's Here!

I can't wait to share more pictures with you!  In this picture he was 1 1/2 weeks old.  They say time flies and it really does.  He will be 1 month old next Thursday!  Wow!

Engagement Session for Jessica & Daniel

Jessica and Daniel almost have less than a year to go to until their destination wedding in Asheville!  They are getting married October 18, 2014.  Jess and I worked 1 or 2 college summers together in our fathers' general surgery physician office.  She chose the medical route, while I still easily faint with medical talk, I now can handle to get my blood drawn and get a shot without feeling queasy.  Jess is at Duke studying to be a Physician's Assistant and has planned their wedding around her school work and rotations.  She is so on top of all of her wedding details.  Everything is planned already - that's because she is now on the road for several months rotating between different doctor offices all over North Carolina.  I'm so glad they picked Asheville as their destination!

We did their engagement pictures in Durham, where they currently live.  You wouldn't believe this was an August weekend in Durham.  It was in the upper 60's/low 70's all day.  It was the weirdest weather weekend!  Sam and I were in Cary that weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday, and they had to cancel plans to spend the day on a lake with a boat (which suit me just fine...I didn't feel like being the big pregnant lady in a swimsuit amongst these super fit soccer-loving (which means they have great legs) girls.  Although the skies were a little overcast and we ended up with a little misty sprinkle by the end of the session, I think it was better weather than a typical August day in Durham (80 - 90 degrees and 75% humidity).  Anyways, onto to the pictures : )

As you can see, they were very comfortable in front of the camera.  Being able to relax, and be yourself in front of the camera always makes for better pictures.  I know that is hard!  My sister-in-law took maternity pictures of me, and it's always good to get in front of the camera as a reminder to what my clients do for me.

I love this little dancing series : )

Durham really has managed to make their tobacco town quite cute!

On a personal note, Sam and I are just waiting, waiting for this baby!  I'm 39 weeks today.  Next Wednesday, October 23 is my due date.  We are so ready to meet this little guy or girl!  Just trying to keep busy and well rested at the same time.

Kim & Matt's Wedding

Sorry I missed blogging during the month of September!  I kind of hit my pregnancy stress point in September.  Now I have settled down into the waiting game (2 weeks from my due date!), and I realized at the beginning of October that my daily work pace is going to be slower.  And there's no need to stress over that fact.

I want to share some images from Kim and Matt's Asheville Wedding.  Their wedding and reception was held at The Venue in Asheville.  I can't say enough nice things about The Venue.  The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful AND it was a beautiful event space.  This was a destination wedding for most of Kim and Matt's guests, so I hope they enjoyed their Asheville experience.

I loved her shoes!  Such cute flats and she can wear them after her wedding.

They did their first look at The Beaumont Bed and Breakfast (Matt stayed there on Friday night before the wedding).  It's just a few blocks outside of downtown.  This was also where I had a few minutes to take some bridals of Kim.  It was a beautiful property!

They were such a sweet couple.  They had a close group of family and friends in attendance, and you could feel their love for Kim and Matt.
