Catherine's Senior Portraits

I had the honor of photographing my dear friend and co-worker's daughter, Catherine.  This was my first senior portrait shoot, and we had fun in downtown Asheville.  I was so excited and honored that they would drive 4 hours from Atlanta for me to take pictures for them!  So Congratulations Catherine, Class of 2010!

Officer Z.W. Parnell

You might be asking where I was when I took this picture....well...uh...I was in the backseat of a police car!  But no, I was not in trouble.  My mom and I were delivering a flashlight to Zac that he left at home, and I thought what a great opportunity to get a picture of him at work!

And we couldn't leave Roscoe at home!  Look how happy they are to see each other!

My Weekend Project

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend home in Asheville with Sam.  I finally got around to putting some pictures in frames and getting them on the wall!  It's so nice to look up there and see wedding pictures :)  I also dusted shelves and mopped the floor, but that doesn't make for a pretty picture!

I love this couple!

I photographed Nara and Jeff about 1 1/2 years ago right before their June 2008 wedding (woohoo my 1st repeat customer!).  They are so relaxed in front of the camera, and Nara is the cutest pregnant woman ever!  I can't wait to meet "baby skippet!"

Meet the Thomas Family

Meet the Thomas Family, whose 2 girls cheer at Charlotte Allstars.  Of course I had to ask them to tumble for me - plus it was a little chilly and I was trying to help warm them up : )

I love the next pictures of just the 2 sisters!

I thought Jennifer, the mom, did such a great job coordinating outfits!  Don't they look good?!

Spring and Summer Pictures

I was looking through my pictures from this year, and I thought I would post a few on my blog.  First up, Sam and me at the beach this summer.  This is at the dock at Calabash, NC where all the good "fish fry" restaurants are - yum, nothing beats fried flounder!

Here are a few pictures from my bridesmaid luncheon at Sante Restaurant in downtown Matthews.  I had the great honor of wearing my Nanny's wedding dress that is 62 years old!  The seamstress at Nitsa's, Lillian, restored the dress for us and did a wonderful job.  Yes, that's right, my grandparents have been married for 62 years! The last picture is all of my wonderful friends!

It Sold!

My Silent Auction Item (see post below) sold for $80!  It received 4 bids - 3 of which I might have had a hand in ; )  The first bid was from my friends Ryn and Nichole - they were being very nice - and thank you!  The second bid came from Sam's basketball coach, Coach Young.  I spent about 10 minutes standing about 5 - 7 feet away from my auction item - stalking any potential buyers : )  Coach Young walked by and I pointed out my item, and he politely placed a 2nd bid!  Shortly after a couple started to look at the pictures, and of course I was standing by, so I introduced myself as the photographer.  They also politely put a bid on the item and gave Sam and me a hint to check out their silent auction item as well!  So I wasn't the only one trying to sell my item!  When the silent auction ended, I was very curious to see if there was another bid on my item and there was!  There was a 4th bid that I had nothing to do with!  Woohoo - I am very happy that my item donated $80 to the Wofford Terrier Club!  Go TERRIERS!

On another note, I have 3 photo shoots lined up between now and November 1st so stay tuned for more pictures!

Wofford Terrier Ball

It's Wofford Homecoming this weekend!!!  Yay!!  Since I have missed the last 2 years (for very good reasons I might add! check out my Hamptons post from last October and you'll see why), I am so excited to be returning to Sparkle City this weekend!

Rhea, who serves on some Terrier Club board or committee, asked me to donate a piece of photography work to the Terrier Ball Auction.  I happily agreed, and made her ride to Spartanburg with me so I could take some pictures of the campus.  I decided to do a 3 piece series.  The pictures are printed as a standout, and they are all 10x10.  This blog really doesn't do it justice.  I'll try to snap a picture of them on display at the Terrier Ball.

More of Campbell

Since that last post was soooo sad, it's time to post more pictures of Campbell.  These pictures will hopefully make you smile : )

If you tell a 3 year old to lean against something, put their hand on their hip, and be sassy....this is what you get!  Lesson learned - but I still love this pictures because it makes me laugh!

Go Bucky Go!

My parents had to put our family dog of 14 years to sleep yesterday.  He was a great dog, and I would recommend a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier to anyone!  Long gone were the days where he would give you a "wheaten welcome."  He would still give himself "swoop swoops" as we called them - where he would rub his face against the couch and mess his hair up.  Here's what a "swoop, swoop" looked like, but this was from having his head out the car window.

Campbell turns 3!

I took some pictures for my mom's co-worker's daughter, Campbell, who just turned 3!  They live "in the country" and had so many beautiful places around their house for pictures!  Here is the 1st picture I edited.  I haven't worked on anymore pictures yet, but I wanted to post this picture!  She's so cute!

Cute, Cute Roscoe

I know you must think I'm crazy for calling a 90lb german shepherd cute!  But look at that face, well he kinda looks like a bear below, which is funny.  Seriously, I don't even live in the same city as this dog, but when I come home and see him, the first thing he does is roll over to his back so I can pet him!  Now that's my kind of dog!

Look how Roscoe is smiling for the camera!

The Many Faces of Karsyn

The many cute faces of Karsyn....

Excited about going down a slide!

Happy, sweet face and still going down the slide.

I love being held upside down face!

Let's see that upside down face turned around...pure joy on her face!

Another sweet and happy face

A little bit upset here, but she quickly regained her smile.

And I leave you with a couple more family pictures.

Dad, please pick your favorite : )

This is my extended family. The guy on the right is my brother Philip. That's his wife Lindsay and their son Oliver. They actually made the long trip from Amarillo, Texas to my wedding this past May! They are very cool people! The other folks are Lindsay's sister, brother-in-law, neice, and parents. My parents went on vacation with all of them to Red River, New Mexico.

Karsyn Sneek Peek

First, meet the family! I pulled out my camera, and somehow Karsyn knew how to smile! She's only 1!

She loves her baby dolls!

And one of my favorites so far...

Redneck Riveria

Sam and I spent a long weekend at the beach in July, North Myrtle Beach to be exact. "People-Watching" could be made a sport at this place! You see a little bit of everything. Sorry - I didn't take any pictures while "people watching" on the beach.

But I do have a picture of an ice cream stand at Calabash, NC. Hershey's syrup is a staple in my diet : )

My wonderful parents, who celebrate their 17th wedding anniversary tomorrow!

Here's the view from my grandparents' condo - luckily there isn't a high rise condo blocking the whole view. I somehow lucked out with this shot. I didn't have a tripod, so I was balancing my camera on the deck railing. There was also heat lightning that evening, and it struck right at the end of my exposure giving the sky the brilliant blue hue.
