Rachel & Lincoln's Wedding

July has been a great month so far, and I can't believe that it's almost over.  Summer is flying by!  I'm sure time has flown by for Rachel and Lincoln since they got married on July 9th.  Time flies when you're having fun (aka - a happy newlywed!).  This couple shared a deep connection, and it was evident how much they cared for one another.  Thankfully the usual summer thunderstorms held off - the last thing you need with 90+ degree weather is the extra humidity of a summer thunderstorm.  It was a beautiful day, and Rachel and Lincoln had a lot of family and friends to help celebrate with them!

Cowboy boots for the bridesmaids (and the bride too, she ended up wearing cowboy boots as well).

Details of the dress -  One of the most exciting moments when shooting a wedding for me is the unveiling of the dress.  I loved Rachel's dress, and it definitely fit her personality.  And the veil is what it pulls it all together.

I did a few bridal shots of Rachel before the ceremony, and one of my favorites is this carefree smile and movement.

Rachel had great expressions throughout the entire day, and I love how happy she looks in this picture!

It's official, Mr. and Mrs. Lawing!

Minutes after being announced as MARRIED :)

The reception was held at Cramer Mountain Country Club.  Very beautiful!

The mother and grandmother of the groom admiring the cake.

Stunning flowers and beautiful bright green colors at the reception.

First dance

The band at the reception was awesome!  I wanted to get out there and dance, but I had a job to do : )  It was the Chris Lane Band.

And a sweet bubble exit to end a wonderful night!

Asheville City Market

I went to the Asheville City Market with my friends/house guests, Nicole and Joe yesterday morning.  Everything looked beautiful and yummy!

This is our favorite pasta ever!  It's homemade, and the difference between homemade pasta and boxed pasta is unbelievable!  Seriously, this stuff is AMAZING!  I can't wait to get my parents to try it.  Sam's parents and sister are now fans as well.  Our goal is to keep our freezer stocked with this stuff ALL YEAR LONG!

Yesterday we tried their Tomato Basil Sauce and bought some of their pizza dough.  Joe made us the best pizzas ever with some parmesan cheese and basil, tomatoes, and rosemary from our garden at home.  YUMMY!

There are some beautiful flowers at this market (there's usually beautiful flowers at any sort of farmer's market).

I LOVE this hanging/fall over flower, I should have asked what it was.  It makes me want to plant a window box with flowers on our front porch...maybe next summer.

Other sights of the market....

And a collage of my favorite color yellow (plus a little orange and red)

I photographed another Charlotte wedding last Friday for Jacquelyn and Scotty.  They were such a cute couple, and I thought they needed a photograph for when they get home from their honeymoon : )

Small Preview of the Mr. and Mrs. Lawing

Don't worry, I will be sharing more photos from this wedding, but I wanted to have one image up for Rachel and Lincoln for when they return from their honeymoon.  This photo was taken at the beautiful Cramer Mountain Country Club.

Congratulations y'all!  Thank you for allowing me to share in your special day!

New Product - Custom Albums!

Oh my goodness, I have lots to share with y'all!  Including a wonderful wedding from this past weekend in Belmont, NC!  I must share with you my favorite memory of Belmont before I go into this blog post.  When I was little we would go out to eat with Nanny and Papa to the Captain's Cap seafood restaurant in Belmont.  This wonderful fish fry restaurant is still around, and it was still a favorite of Papa's when he passed away (and mine too!).  Nothing beats fried flounder and hush puppies!  The Captain's Cap was across the street from Rose's, remember this store?!  I knew after dinner, my Nanny and Papa would take me to Rose's and let me pick out a toy.  I remember Rose's carried this type of doll I liked.  All throughout dinner I would look out the window at Rose's and dream of what doll or doll accessory I would pick out.

Now onto to the album!  I made an album for the Brown Family's photo shoot (remember this is my cousin's family).  This is a great way to display all of your photograph's from a family session.  This day in particular had some funny moments that you wouldn't necessarily frame (like Sydney riding a 4-wheeler with a turtle in a brown bag), but it is fun to be able to flip through the pictures and see these funny moments.

There are many, many cover options.  The one below is a natural linen cover.

I like how the pages lay flat.

Here's a close up of the flat pages.

The cover is durable and thick, which gives the album a good weight.

Have a great week everyone, and thanks for stopping by!

I love houndstooth!

I hope everyone had a Happy 4th of July weekend!

I love houndstooth fabric!  For years, I carried around this 2"x4" swatch of brown and white houndstooth in my car.  I had hopes that I could find something to use a fabric like that.  Many years later, I found a lovely yellow and white houndstooth, and I had the perfect project for the fabric.

Before Picture:  Sam's parents gave us this chair last year after we moved into our new home.  They purchased the chair in 2001, when college basketball coaches were visiting their home to recruit Sam.  They needed the extra seating.  Richard Johnson (Wofford's AD, the head coach for Sam's freshman year) sat in this chair when he came to their home.  He's a big man like Sam, and this chair is really comfy!  It just needed a little TLC to help it shine!

After Picture:  The fabric was purchased from Distinctive Fabrics and Furniture in Cornelius, NC near Lake Norman.  I highly recommend them, they were friendly and had a lot of beautiful fabrics.  Sam's mom knew someone local that recovered the chair.  If you live in the Asheville area and need a re-upholsterer or someone to sew pillows let me know, I have a great recommendation.  The blanket on the chair is from Sweden!  It was purchased on our last day there, and the store was closing for the day as Rachel and I picked out a few last minute items.

A Beautiful Couple: Sara & Joe

This is the year of travel for Sam and me.  We have been to Puerto Rico for Rhea and Jonathan's wedding, I just got back from Sweden, and in September we are going to Hong Kong for vacation and Martha's Vineyard for Sara and Joe's wedding!  After being a guest at a destination wedding, and a photographer at another, I must say destination weddings are FUN!  Sam and I are really looking forward to spending a long weekend on Martha's Vineyard celebrating their wedding!

Sam and Joe are childhood friends, and Sam will be a groomsmen in their wedding.  I was so happy to be able to take some engagement pictures for this sweet couple.  I met Joe a couple months after Sam and I started dating, and Sara came into the picture fairly soon after that.  I remember the first time I met Sara pretty vividly.  I met Sara on my first trip up to Asheville to see Sam after I was gone for a summer study abroad program in London.  I remember telling Sam how friendly Sara was, and I was excited that Joe had a girlfriend that was fun to hang out with.  I can't believe that was 6 years ago!

Meet the gorgeous couple...

I met up with Sara and Joe the Sunday evening before I flew out of Raleigh/Durham airport for Sweden.  The pictures were taken at the American Tobacco district in Durham, NC.  I loved this location!  We went with a more urban location since their wedding photographs will have a more scenic/nature feel to them at Martha's Vineyard.

Thank you Sara and Joe for allowing me to capture this fun and exciting time in your lives!

I also would like to wish my second Dad (father in law) a Happy Birthday today!  Here he is pictured with Callie (at 2 months old).  Callie will be 1 year old in 15 days, and took her first steps last night!
